Horse Riding Jackets

Equestrian Competition Jackets.
These are formal horse riding jackets worn during competition. The three main types are tail coat, hacking jacket and showing jacket.
Kentucky Gents Tailcoat
Tailcoat - worn for top level dressage and should be worn with a top hat, white stock, stock pin, waistcoat, long black boots, shirt, white or cream jodhpurs, spurs and gloves.
 CALDENE HICKSTEAD JACKET
Hacking Jacket - can be worn for riding dressage and jumping, and the dress guidelines of each sport will dictate what colour you should wear; for example in eventing a tweed jacket is acceptable for intro to novice levels, and a black or blue jacket is expected for intermediate and above, in the UK.
Riding Jackets
Tweed Hacking Jacket - worn with a colour stock and stock pin, and a black or blue jacket is worn with a white stock and stock pin. Jodhpurs should be white or cream with long black boots or short boots with chaps on of the same colour. A shirt and tie may also be worn instead of a stock but check the rule book for dress guidelines.
 PIKEUR EPSOM
Equestrian Showing Jacket - similar to a hacking jacket but are often shapelier in design and come in tweed and black or blue.

Horse riding jackets should be well fitting and not interfere with the rider's movement, particularly around the shoulders, and with quilted and waterproof horse riding jackets available, you can be covered for most weather conditions.
LEGACY REFLECTIVE TABBARD
Fluorescent horse riding jackets are a safety item, and should be worn when riding on the road. In conditions where visibility is poor, it can also be used to advise other road users to be aware, for example, that you are on a young or inexperienced horse.
Special types of horse riding jacket will depend on the sport and level you have achieved within that sport.
This can range from tweed hacking jacket for showing, show jumping, dressage and eventing, to a black, blue, green or red show jacket for showing, show jumping, dressage, and eventing, or top hat and tails for dressage and top level eventing.
